NSM is proud to offer Full-Day SmugMug Mentoring Sessions. With mentoring sessions, you reserve a full work day of my time and my undivided attention to help you get closer to where you want to be in your business. Time is often spent polishing up your SmugMug website, working on graphics (logo, business card, marketing material, etc), getting info and training on social media and email marketing, and general advice for getting started in your photography business.
The ideal Mentee will have their site either mostly built or mostly planned out. They will have a rough idea of what they want their brand and design to be but need help making that extra step towards a finished product. They will have all their page content (copy and photos) ready to go by the time of the session. They will have any questions or topics prepared ahead of time that they need help with in order to make the most of the day.
Sessions are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Sundays from 10am to 6pm Pacific time. Sessions are 8 hours of work time and one hour of break.
Session cost is $850
Case Study: ~K~ Photography
Before: Kristen had been struggling with getting her website to a point where she could be proud of it. Knowing she was on a tight budget, Kristen with the help of a friend put together a logo and rough idea of a design and applied it to her SmugMug site. Using the Easy Customizer, she created a simple nav bar that contained links to all the pages she knew she wanted to have, and embedded image representations of what she wanted those pages to look like.

During: Starting at 10am, Kristen and I chatted on Gtalk. We reviewed all that we had established already: she wanted to build on the idea she already had to produce a polished and functional website. We discussed fonts and colors. I assisted Kristen with some domain registration. Got down and dirty with the design work by 11:30, produced about 6 initial design concepts, and by 1pm we had final design approval.
Click here to see an example of what the presentation of our design concepts looks like. We present them as JPGs embedded in HTML so that you can click through anywhere on the image to see them easily.
After a short break for lunch, I began to cut and build a template for the site in HTML and CSS. By 3pm this was complete and I began working within her SmugMug account. Once the layout was working correctly, I began building the pages. By 5:30 we were putting the finishing touches on the form fields on the contact page and after a few formatting tweaks, we were all wrapped up by 6:20.
After: Kristen was so happy with the final result! The session proved successful. Here is a screen shot of the final result. You can also visit her live site at http://www.kcephotos.com
